What Information Is Collected?
It is our policy to create website content that requires minimum collection
of information from our visitors. Information is collected so children
can participate in activities (e.g. post animals they have created
and the names they have given particular animals, post stories and
poems written about animals, and post drawings of animals) without
giving unnecessary personal information. Switch Zoo does not condition
a child’s participation in any of our online activities on
the disclosure of more information than is reasonably necessary to
participate in the activity. As explained below, we also collect
additional types of information (via third party payment processors)
from parents (e.g., credit card and billing information) when parents
purchase products and offerings at our site.
CD-ROM Purchases and Other Merchandise From Switch Zoo Stores
When visitors purchase a CD-ROM or other merchandise from one of the
Switch Zoo stores, Tubehead's payment processors and affiliate stores (Digital
River, PayPal, Novica,
Amazon.com and the National Geographic Store) will take the information
necessary to complete the transaction, including name, email address,
physical address and payment information. This information is used
exclusively to complete the transaction. Once visitors have successfully
entered a valid credit card number/expiration date and completed
the order process, an account will be created and maintained for
customers. We use this information to process the customer's order
and to send order confirmations via email. We do not sell, transfer
or share the information with third parties except, the information
is transferred, disclosed and shared with our third party processors
who use the information solely to handle and manage order fulfillment
and customer service, but cannot use it for other purposes and have
agreed to maintain the confidentiality of such information. At checkout,
customers are offered the opportunity to sign up to receive occasional
e-mailings about updates and future products. No email (besides that
which is sent to verify the transaction) will be sent unless the
customer chooses to be notified.
Use of Information
Switch Zoo currently does not disclose to third parties personally
identifiable information that children provide. With regard to consumer
information collected from parents, Digital River, the distributor
for Switch Zoo Deluxe, handles the payment process using a variety
of security technologies and procedures to help protect your personal
information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. For more
information on their secure transactions and privacy policies, please
